About Me

I'm Kari Carr. I am a children’s author and empathy educator focused on helping families teach empathy in a way that actually sticks.
My work centers on the Effortless Empathy Method—a simple, repeatable framework designed to build emotional awareness, perspective-taking, and kindness as identity.
Rather than relying on correction, rewards, or pressure, my approach emphasizes emotional safety, intentional practice, and reflection. The 3-step method makes empathy a simple addition to daily life, and the benefits go far beyond childhood.
Through books, learning tools, and guided resources, Effortless Empathy supports parents and educators in raising compassionate, resilient children—without overwhelm or burnout.
“Empathy is not optional. It is essential.”
How I can help:
Build trust and emotional regulation before addressing behavior.
Use practical resources that fit into everyday moments.
Measurable empathy that grows with your child over time.
My mission is to make teaching empathy easy for families, classrooms, and business leadership. I live in Michigan, where I spend my days writing, creating, exploring nature, and inspiring children and parents to see the world with wonder, compassion, and courage. Here is a little of my history:
Author of the upcoming Effortless Empathy series for Parents, Educators, and Leadership
Positive Parenting Coaching Certification
Neuroscience Coaching Certification
Author of the Award-winning Picture Book-"I Love You to the Moon and Back"
Author of the Weird & Wacky Planet series for 8 to 12
